Plan unveiled for comprehensive development of Gadag-Betageri

Minister for Municipal Administration and Haj Rahim Khan has said that the State government will provide all necessary assistance for implementing the development plan of the Gadag-Betageri Business, Culture and Exhibition Authority which aims at the comprehensive development of Gadag-Betageri.

He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating Gadag-Betageri Business, Culture and Exhibition Authority and unveiling the development plan in Gadag on Tuesday evening.

Terming the project as a historical one, he said that once executed completely, it will change the face of Gadag-Betageri.

The plan, a brainchild of district in-charge Minister H.K. Patil, will be a model to the whole State and the government will extend all necessary help, he said.

Mr. Patil said that the development plan requires funds to the tune of ₹500 crore and the plan is to initiate the project at the earliest and complete it within a period of three years. He also sought the cooperation of local residents in the execution of the work and appealed to them to make good use of the project.

MLA and Chairman of Karnataka Minerals Corporation Limited G.S. Patil said that many wanted new buildings to come up in the heart of the city providing space for new ideas and now, it is getting materialised.

He called upon the people of Gadag-Betageri to make use of project and invest in the city before investing in other towns and cities.

Deputy Commissioner of Gadag C.N. Sridhar, chairman of the authority Akbarsab Babarchi, Superintendent of Police B.S. Nemagouda, ZP CEO Bharat S., the former MLA D.R. Patil and others were present.
