Actress Anjuum Faakih expresses creative satisfaction returning to a grey-shaded role after a decade, finding such characters offer emotional complexity and reflect modern relationship realities. She describes her character, Dr.

Actor Anjuum Faakih who's currently seen in Dr Aarambhi says returning to a grey-shaded role after many years has been creatively satisfying. The actress believes such characters offer emotional complexity and reflect the realities of modern relationships. “I played a grey shade in a show almost a decade ago, and since then I’ve been yearning to play something like that again,” she says. “This opportunity felt exciting because grey characters are not simply right or wrong.” According to her, the complexity is what makes such roles interesting. “When you are right, you know you are right. When you are wrong, you know you are wrong. But when you are grey, you are stuck somewhere in the middle,” she explains.

“Sometimes you believe you are right, but others may see you differently.” Talking about her character Dr. Avantika, Anjum feels the label of “grey” is often misunderstood. “When women stand up for themselves or ask for what they deserve, people sometimes label them as grey or problematic,” she says. “But Avantika knows her worth. She stands up for herself and demands her rights. There is nothing wrong in that.” She describes Avantika as a strong and independent woman. “She is a cosmetic surgeon and the head of the department. She is confident, fiery, and believes in equal opportunities for everyone. I have always been a rebel. Everything I have today, I earned the hard way. I had no support or industry background.” Because of that journey, she feels connected to the character’s strength. “Avantika is independent and fearless. Playing such a woman is exciting and empowering.”
