A 12-year-old boy fell to his death from the 10th floor of his building while playing hide-and-seek with his friends in the Kurla area of Mumbai, said the police on Wednesday.
Police said the victim fell when he was standing at the door of the lift installed in the multi-storey building. Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage, accessed by CNN-News18, captured the moment the tragedy unfolded.
The clip begins with the child playing with his friends in what appeared to be a corridor. Close to the lift, the children were hiding as part of the game. Meanwhile, the victim –– in a bid to avoid getting caught –– was seen hiding along a narrow room between the corridor and the lift door.
According to the police, the door opened suddenly, causing the child to fall off. As his friends noticed, they were seen rushing to inform the residents of the building.
Following the incident, police reached the site to initiate an investigation. Another video, accessed by CNN-News18, showed officials carrying out probe and questioning the concerned authorities in connection with the matter.
More details are awaited.
