'Please don't turn this into a political issue,' Vishnu Vishal speaks out on online negativity against 'Gatta Kusthi 2'

'Gatta Kusthi 2,' starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, has been receiving a good response from family audiences since its theatrical release on July 3. While the film is doing well at the box office, conversations around it have also shifted to online negativity.

Talking about the matter, Vishnu Vishal said he is strictly against social media abuse and personal attacks, adding that healthy discussions should always be above targeted campaigns.

Actor responds to questions on criticism against 'Gatta Kusthi 2'

The actor spoke to the media after attending a special screening of 'Gatta Kusthi 2' organised by the Rotary Club in Chennai for specially-abled children. When asked about negative comments and online campaigns against the film, Vishnu Vishal chose to focus on the larger issue rather than the controversy itself.

"It is difficult. I don't want to go into it in detail. People are enjoying the film. I have already spoken about social media hatred, and I will say it again.

I don't like all the hate on the internet. We must all stand together against it. I have already taken that stand, and I will continue to do so," he said, as reported by Nakkheeran.

Vishnu Vishal's take on personal attacks

The actor further explained that personal attacks on individuals only create a toxic online environment.

"Targeting someone personally is not good for society. We all want to build a better society, but what we see on social media is completely the opposite. I will continue to stand against such behaviour," Vishnu Vishal added. His comments have drawn attention as debates over online trolling and organised negativity continue to grow across the film industry.

Vishnu Vishal clarifies his bond with Red Giant Movies

During the interaction, Vishnu Vishal also requested people not to politicise the film's release or his association with Red Giant Movies. "Please don't turn this into a political issue. I see Red Giant Movies only as a professional production and distribution company. I have shared a wonderful relationship with them for the past 13 years. That is why I wanted this film to be released through them," he said. Ending on a positive note, the actor added, "I want everyone to look at this positively.

Families are coming to theatres and celebrating the film because it carries a positive message."
