PM meets Uttarakhand flood victims' families, announces Rs 1,200 crore aid package

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited Dehradun to assess the damage caused by recent floods and heavy rains in Uttarakhand. During his visit, he held a review meeting with officials and interacted with flood-affected families.

The Prime Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 1,200 crore for the flood and rain-affected areas. He also declared an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured. Additionally, he announced comprehensive support under the PM CARES for Children scheme for children orphaned due to the floods and landslides.
