Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kolkata on a brief visit where he will address a rally and unveil development projects worth around ₹18,680 crore.
Mr. Modi was received by Governor R.N. Ravi, senior West Bengal Minister Firhad Hakim and Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty at the NSCB International Airport around 2 p.m..
Senior BJP leaders also greeted him at the airport.
Mr. Modi is scheduled to head to the Brigade Parade Ground for a rally by helicopter.
The rally, organised by the BJP, will mark the culmination of the party's statewide 'Parivartan Yatra' ahead of the assembly elections.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth around ₹18,680 crore.
