PM Modi also noted that Guru Ravidas Ji consistently spoke about “equality and equal opportunity, values that remain deeply relevant today."

During the visit, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the new terminal building at Halwara Airport in Ludhiana, extending his greetings to the people of Punjab for what he described as important milestones in the state’s infrastructure development.

Recalling a personal moment, PM Modi referred to a prayer ceremony held at Dera Sach Khand Ballan on his birthday a few months ago, with the blessings of Sant Niranjan Dass Maharaj and other saints.

He described the occasion as deeply meaningful and thanked the spiritual leaders and followers for their affection, saying the teachings of Sant Ravidas had given him renewed inspiration and energy.

The renaming of Adampur Airport and the inauguration of the Halwara terminal are part of efforts to strengthen aviation infrastructure in Punjab.

The new terminal at Halwara is expected to serve as a key gateway for Ludhiana and surrounding industrial and agricultural regions, improving connectivity and passenger convenience.

Halwara Airport, located in Ludhiana district, also houses a strategic Indian Air Force station, adding to the importance of the civil enclave.

Earlier, Ludhiana’s airport operations were restricted due to a shorter runway that could handle only smaller aircraft.
