PM Modi Israel Visit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Israel, starting today, February 25, with the central government asserting it will reaffirm the deep and long-standing strategic bond between the two nations and present an opportunity to review common challenges.

Upon his arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport at 4 P.M. today, PM Modi will meet his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after and later in the day, he will address the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) at 8 P.M.

PM Modi will also visit a technology and innovation exhibit later in the evening, i.e., around 9:55 P.M., before joining Netanyahu for a private dinner.

On Thursday, PM Modi will pay a visit to Yad Vashem at 12:15 P.M. — Israel’s official memorial, established in 1953, to commemorate the six million Jews murdered by Nazis. Following this, he is scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog for bilateral engagements.

Later in the day, the two Prime Ministers will meet for delegation-level talks at around 2:40 P.M. before the release of MoU exchange and joint press statements.

At 4 P.M., PM Modi will hold interaction with the Indian diaspora in Israel, followed by his departure for Delhi at 5:50 P.M.

UPGRADED SECURITY PACT ON AGENDA

An upgraded security pact is likely among the key agendas that will dominate the Prime Minister’s visit to Israel. In addition, the two countries are also likely to sign a free trade agreement later this year.

“The two leaders will review the significant progress made in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and discuss further opportunities in various areas of cooperation, including science and technology, innovation, defence and security, agriculture, water management, trade and economy, and people-to-people exchanges," said the government in a statement.
