PM Modi Indonesia, Australia Visit Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday visit the historic Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, Indonesia alongside Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The Prime Minister will launch a conservation project for the 1,000-year-old temple.

On Tuesday PM Modi described the monument as “another remarkable testament” to deep cultural and civilisational ties that have connected India and Indonesia for over a thousand years. This conservation project is part of India’s cultural diplomacy and Act East policy in Southeast Asia.

On the first day of his visit, PM Modi received a warm ceremonial welcome in Indonesia, with President Prabowo Subianto personally receiving him at the airport. The Prime Minister was accorded a Guard of Honour and a traditional welcome, while Indonesian Air Force fighter jets escorted his aircraft after it entered the country’s airspace, underlining the significance of the visit.

After concluding his engagements in Indonesia, PM Modi will travel to Melbourne for the Australia leg of his tour before heading to Auckland at the invitation of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon for the final stop.

Ahead of his engagements in Australia, members of the Indian diaspora and community leaders said that his visit would further strengthen bilateral relations, promote business opportunities and enhance cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

India is moving forward with the mantra of “reform, perform and transform,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday, as he underlined that the country’s self-reliance is a multiplying force not only for Indonesia but for the entire ASEAN region.

Speaking at a diaspora event in Jakarta attended by President Prabowo Subianto and his top ministers, Modi told the Indonesian leader that he is a “true friend of India.” “India has carried out one reform after another. We have consistently performed, and that’s why the country is transforming today. We are moving forward with the mantra of reform, perform and transform,” Modi told the gathering.

Modi said if he had to describe the speed and scale of India’s growth in one line, he’d say, “1.4 billion aspirations in motion”.
