In a fiery speech in the Lok Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the government's handling of the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of using the armed forces to protect his personal image and lacking the political will to conduct a decisive military operation. He claimed the government informed Pakistan that they did not want an escalation and would not hit military targets, thereby surrendering politically. Citing former US President Donald Trump's repeated claims of mediating a ceasefire, Gandhi dared the Prime Minister to call him a liar in Parliament. He also raised serious concerns about foreign policy, stating the government had allowed China and Pakistan to become a fused, unified military threat, a strategic failure for India.
