Patna: In a bid to support the educational aspirations of sanitation workers’ children, Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday organised a special counselling session for 75 students selected under its Mission Udaan initiative, offering guidance for competitive examinations such as UPSC, BPSC, NEET and JEE.At the session, held at Maurya Mandapam in the Maurya Lok complex, senior PMC officials interacted with students and provided detailed insights into examination patterns, syllabi, study material and preparation strategies.Officials also shared practical tips on time management, regular revision, note-making techniques, the importance of mock tests and confidence-building, urging students to adopt disciplined study habits and remain focused on their long-term goals.A communication expert also spoke on language proficiency and personality development. The counselling session was interactive, with students seeking guidance on exam preparation, study material, career options and time management. Senior municipal officials responded to the queries and shared their own experiences of preparing for competitive examinations.Among those present were IAS officer Deepak Kumar, additional municipal commissioner Rajan Sinha, deputy municipal commissioners Ramashish Sharan Tiwari and Jaya, executive engineer Sushil Jha and other officials of the corporation.
According to PMC, Mission Udaan is aimed at promoting the social and educational upliftment of sanitation workers’ families. Under the initiative, talented children of sanitation workers are being provided academic resources, expert guidance, counselling and other support.
