POCSO case in Hassan: Police arrest one accused

The Hassan police arrested a person on charges of raping a minor girl and making her take pills to terminate pregnancy.

The accused, according to the police, developed contact with the minor girl last year. He raped her several times, threatening her with photos taken while they were together. Later, he also provided her with pills to terminate the pregnancy.

The parents learnt about the incident recently. They filed the complaint with the police.

The police registered the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and relevant sections of the BNS on Friday, September 12, against two persons, including the one who allegedly helped the accused to get the pills.

The police arrested one of the accused on Saturday, September 13.
