Police arrest two Tamil Nadu women for gold chain thefts at Kurnool bus station

Police arrested two women from Tamil Nadu in connection with two gold chain theft cases that allegedly took place at Kurnool RTC bus station. They seized two gold chains weighing approximately 6.5 tolas from the accused.

According to Kurnool IV Town Circle Inspector (CI) Vikramasimha, unidentified individuals allegedly stole a gold chain from the neck of a woman who was waiting at the Kurnool bus station to travel to Giddalur on June 11. Meanwhile, in another incident, unidentified individuals allegedly stole a gold chain from a bank employee hailing from Peddapadu while she was waiting at the Kurnool bus station to head to work.

Based on complaints filed by the victims, the police registered two cases and initiated an investigation. As part of the investigation, CCTV footage from the bus station premises was reportedly examined, leading to the identification of the perpetrators as Bhagya and Hannamma from Jolarpet in Tamil Nadu.

Acting on information that the accused were moving in Bengaluru and Kuppam areas, a special team went to Kuppam and took Bhagya and Hannamma into custody at Palace Road. Mr. Vikramasimha said that two gold chains weighing approximately 6.5 tolas were recovered from them.
