The Anantapur district police have deployed drone cameras to strengthen security measures in the areas surrounding Gugudu village, where ‘Sri Gugudu Kullayi Swamy Brahmotsavams’ are under way.
Police said that continuous surveillance will be maintained using drones at the Brahmotsavam venue, the streets surrounding the temple, and the areas where devotees will wait in queues. Drone assistance is being used to monitor vehicle movement and parking areas on the main roads leading to Gugudu village, ensuring that measures are taken to prevent traffic congestion.
Drones will also be used to detect movements of anti-social elements who might resort to pickpocketing or chain-snatching. Visuals recorded by the drones are linked to a special control room set up at the site, enabling the review of security arrangements in real-time.
Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Jagadeesh said they were working towards facilitating peaceful darshan of the deity. He urged devotees and local residents to extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the Brahmotsavams.
