Police Inspector dies of cardiac arrest in Tirupattur

A 56-year-old police inspector attached to the Armed Reserve (AR) wing of Tirupattur district police died on duty in Tirupattur on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest.

Police said the deceased officer has been identified as K. Ganesh Babu, a native of Vellore. He is survived by wife and three daughters. He was posted in Tirupattur district in 2020 as sub-inspector. He was promoted as inspector in 2023.

Initial inquiry revealed that Babu returned to his office at parade ground in Tirupattur town after regulating auctioning of old police vehicles for the public. Police said that as he was resting in the office, he suddenly suffered chest pain. Immediately, constables in the office rushed him to Government Taluk Hospital in the town where doctors declared him brought dead. Tirupattur SP V. Shyamala Devi paid tributes to the deceased police officer.
