New Delhi: An 18-year-old specially abled youth who went missing from Dwarka was reunited with his family after police tracked him down using a single clue provided by his father — the teenager loved drinking tea and often stopped at roadside tea stalls whenever he ventured out.The youth, a resident of Sector 6, went missing Saturday night. Around midnight, his father approached the police post in Sector 10. Besides sharing his physical description and the clothes he was last seen wearing, the man also told police about his son’s fondness for tea.Police immediately formed multiple search teams and also took the help of residents. Depending on the father’s clue, officers decided to visit tea stalls across the Dwarka sub-city, including Ramphal Chowk and the markets in sectors 7, 10 and 12.
They spoke to one tea vendor after another, hoping someone must have seen the teenager or could point them in the direction he had taken. After hours of repeated inquiries at tea stalls and searches across public places such as parks, officers finally traced him and brought him to safety Sunday, DCP (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said. Following verification of his identity and completion of the legal formalities, the teenager was reunited with his relieved father.
