Police register case against Tini Tom

Kochi: Kochi city police registered a case against actor Tini Tom on Wednesday in connection with a complaint filed by actor Ansiba Hasan, following directions issued by the judicial firstclass magistrate VIII, Ernakulam.Based on the court’s order, Kadavanthra police booked the actor under charges including insulting the modesty of a woman, criminal conspiracy, spreading false information and other offences. Further investigation is under way.The court on Tuesday directed police to register an FIR and conduct a detailed probe while considering a petition filed by Ansiba challenging the earlier decision not to register a case.In its order, the court observed that prima facie material existed for an investigation and rejected the police’s earlier conclusion that the allegations were based on hearsay and did not warrant the registration of a case.
