Three days after four members of a family were found dead inside their house in Telangana Colony under the Nalgonda One Town police station limits, investigators have ruled out suicide and are treating the case as a suspected murder.

The deceased were identified as Mohammed Sultan, his wife Haseena and two other family members. Their bodies were discovered in a decomposed state after residents alerted police to a foul smell emanating from the house.

A senior police official said seven special teams have been constituted to investigate the deaths and several relatives are currently being questioned.

“We have several suspects as the family is large. The teams are questioning all of them at the moment,” the official said.

Police had earlier stated that all angles were being examined and were awaiting forensic and postmortem findings to determine the cause of death.

According to preliminary investigations, the deaths may have occurred nearly four days before the bodies were discovered.

With suicide now ruled out, investigators are focusing on possible motives and examining the family’s personal, financial and social connections. Further investigation is underway.
