Three alleged drug peddlers and two consumers were apprehended with 1.25 litres of hash oil worth an estimated ₹16 lakh during a joint operation by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and the Jubilee Hills police.

Acting on specific information, the Secunderabad Zone Task Force, along with the Jubilee Hills police, intercepted the accused near Road No. 10 and seized 75 small containers of hash oil, four mobile phones and a two-wheeler.

The arrested peddlers were identified as Bonangi Chinnayya Padal, 24, of Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district, Padamatiniti Bharath Kumar, 23, an office boy from Jagadgirigutta, and Mohammad Shoaib, 20, a student from Jubilee Hills. Police said Bharath Kumar was previously involved in 18 property offences in the Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates.

The two consumers apprehended were identified as Bogam Kalyan Teja, 22, a medical delivery executive from Balanagar, who was previously booked in an NDPS case, and Tudapalli Uday Kumar, 25, a fruit trader from Jagadgirigutta.

According to the police, Bharath Kumar and Shoaib had been procuring hash oil from Chinnayya Padal and selling it in Hyderabad for profit. Investigators said Shoaib financed the purchase of 600 ml of hash oil in June, after which Bharath Kumar repackaged it into approximately 4 ml containers and allegedly sold each for ₹3,000.

In the first week of July, Bharath Kumar is alleged to have placed another order for one litre of hash oil and asked Chinnayya Padal to deliver the consignment to Hyderabad for an additional payment.

Police said the trio was intercepted while taking delivery of the consignment. During the search, officers recovered 50 small containers of hash oil from Shoaib’s two-wheeler and another 25 containers from Bharath Kumar’s possession. Based on information gathered during questioning, the police later apprehended the two alleged consumers.

Police identified the alleged main supplier as one ‘Lobby’, a resident of Odisha, who is absconding.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
