Post Office Passport Seva Kendra to open at Thavanur on July 8

With the inauguration of a Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) at Thavanur on Wednesday (July 8), every Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala will now have at least one Passport Seva Kendra or POPSK in operation.

The facility, located at the Thavanur Sub Post Office, will function under the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Kozhikode, Arunmohan K., Regional Passport Officer, said here on Monday (July 6).

​The new centre is aimed at improving access to passports and related services for residents of the Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency and neighbouring areas, and it is expected to significantly cut travel time for applicants. It will initially handle approximately 50 applications a day, with capacity set to increase to 100 applications daily.

​The facility will be the third POPSK under the jurisdiction of RPO, Kozhikode. Union Minister Suresh Gopi will inaugurate the centre. M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, MP, along with MLAs from the Ponnani constituency and senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, will attend the programme.
