Sri Sathya Sai District Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar has said that yoga remains a powerful tool in the hands of the public to safeguard their physical and mental health.
Participating in the Yogandhra demonstration session organised at the government girls’ hostel here on Saturday, he said that yoga is not just a series of physical exercises, but practising a unique lifestyle that enhances one’s wellbeing and builds a strong character and personality.
The Joint Collector said that in the present fast-paced world, marked by spiritual, physical, and mental stress, yoga has come to play a crucial role in maintaining the balance and harmony of the mind. He urged the public to incorporate yoga into their daily lives as it is essential for developing a healthy society and peaceful co-existence.
Underlining the efficacy of the ongoing Yogandhra initiative, Mr. Abhishek Kumar said that International Yoga Day programmes are being organised extensively across Andhra Pradesh from May 21 to June 21. The yoga demonstrations and training classes are also being held at popular spiritual and tourist centres in various districts.
The Joint Collector said that the officials were clearly instructed to engage people from all walks of life, including students, women, employees, teachers, NGOs and people’s representatives, to take the yoga campaign to every nook and corner of the district.
Mr. Kumar appealed to people to make the International Yoga Day event, scheduled for June 21 in Visakhapatnam, a grand success.
