Following the success of 'Love Today', actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan is set to helm and star in a new film, marking his third collaboration with the production house. Archana Kalpathi confirmed the project, with shooting expected to commence soon and a 2026 release anticipated. This venture further solidifies Ranganathan's commercial appeal.
‘Dragon’ fame actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan is all set to return to the director’s chair after the last directorial success in the romance drama, ‘Love Today’. It is also suggested that the filmmakers, who have been enjoying back-to-back successful stints at the box office, will direct and play the leading role.
Filmmaker confirms the project
This project has been confirmed by filmmaker Archana Kalpathi, who will be backing the movie. Recently, while speaking with Galaata Plus, she revealed that the ‘Dude’ star will both act in and helm the upcoming movie. She also shared that they are planning to begin the shooting soon and it is expected to hit the big screens in 2026.
Third collaboration with the production house
This will be Pradeep Ranganathan’s third collaboration with the production house. Earlier, the actor-director delivered blockbuster hits like ‘Love Today’ in 2022 and ‘Dragon’ in 2025 with the same production house.
Both films played a key role in establishing Pradeep as a strong commercial actor, especially among young audiences.The filmmaker also spoke about other projects they are currently backing. She confirmed that the banner is teaming up with director Ashwath Marimuthu and actor Silambarasan for a new film. Additionally, they will back another project featuring Arjun, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan. This film is expected to be released in early 2026.
What’s next for Pradeep Ranganathan
On the work front, Pradeep Ranganathan who was last seen in ‘Dude’ has a few releases lined up as an actor. His much-awaited film ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ is still awaiting its theatrical release. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the sci-fi romantic entertainer stars Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah in key roles. The film faced several delays and was initially planned for a Deepavali release. It was later pushed to December 18.
