Indian GM Aravindh Chidambaram was held to a draw in the Masters category of the 2026 edition of the Prague International Chess Festival on Friday, while D Gukesh and Divya Deshmukh were handed defeats in the third round of the event in Czech Republic.
Chidambaram and Parham Maghsoodloo shared the spoils on the day, while Gukesh went down to Dutchman Jorde Van Foreest and Divya succumbed to Zhu Jiner of China.
Uzbeki Nordibek Yakuboev split the points with American Hans Niemann, while home hope David Navara shared the spoils with Spaniard David Anton Guijaro in the masters category. Nordibek Abdusattorov and German Vincent Keymer settled for a draw.
In the challengers category, Danil Yuffa of Spain got the better of Benjamin Gledura of Hungary, while Vaclav Finek beat Stepan Hrbek in the all Czech battle.
Indian Suriya Shekhar Ganguly went down to Jachym Nemec of Czechia, while Thomas Beerdsen of the Netherlands went down to Dane Jonas Buhl Bejjerie.
