Prasanth Varma hails Akshaye Khanna as a ‘true actor’ in birthday post, shares ‘Mahakali’ BTS from sets

‘Dhurandhar’ star Akshaye Khanna is currently preparing for his Telugu debut with ‘Hanu Man’ fame Prasanth Varma. Today, on his birthday, the filmmaker shared his honor working with the Bollywood star and teased fans about their upcoming collaboration.

Prasanth Varma took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share a BTS still from the upcoming movie ‘Mahakali’. The picture captures Khanna dressed as Shukracharya. Prasanth Varma, director Puja Aparna Kolluru, along with him with the other team members, can be seen discussing something on the sets, with a large green screen in the background.Sharing the picture, he praised Akshaye Khanna for how his works speak loudly while he remains away from the spotlight.

About ‘Mahakali’

In the upcoming film Mahakali directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, Akshaye Khanna is playing the role of Shukracharya.

This is a very strong and important character. He will be seen as the Asura guru. This role is very new for him. He will be seen in a saint-like look. It is the first time he is doing such a role on screen.The film is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, also called PVCU. This universe started with the hit film ‘Hanu-Man’, which turned out to be a massive success across India, released in 2024. The universe also includes his upcoming Rishab Shetty starrer ‘Jai Hanuman’ and ‘Adhira’. Speaking about the film, directed by Puja Kolluru, ‘Mahakali’ tells a superhero story of a woman-centric character.
