Prateek Yadav Death: Hospital sources told News18 that a call was received from Prateek Yadav’s residence around 4.55 am reporting a sudden deterioration in his health.

Prateek Yadav Death: The postmortem report of Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, noted that cardiac arrest led to his death, with blood clotting and cardio-respiratory collapse identified as the causes. Prateek Yadav, 38, died in Lucknow and was taken to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body was subsequently sent for a postmortem examination.

Hospital sources told News18 that a call was received from Prateek Yadav’s residence around 4.55 am reporting a sudden deterioration in his health and seeking urgent medical assistance. A medical team was immediately dispatched to the residence but sources said that Prateek Yadav was unresponsive by the time doctors arrived. He was then rushed to the hospital, where he was officially declared dead at 5.55 am.

Prateek Yadav was the step-brother of Akhilesh Yadav and the husband of Aparna Yadav. The Samajwadi Party described the passing away of Prateek Yadav as “extremely heartbreaking" in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

At the time of his death, Aparna Yadav was reportedly in Delhi and left for Lucknow after receiving the news. Earlier this year, reports surfaced suggesting tensions between Prateek Yadav and Aparna Yadav. In January, Prateek Yadav had posted on Instagram claiming he was seeking a divorce and accusing Aparna Yadav of harming his family relationships while prioritising political ambitions. He had also spoken publicly about struggling with poor mental health and alleged that she was indifferent to his condition.
