Pre-feasibility study for Tadepalligudem airport launched

The Southern Regional officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) have launched a field inspection and feasibility study for the proposed greenfield airport in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district.

The six-member team representing the AAI, Chennai, has inspected the land near Venkataramannagudem and Jaggannapeta villages in Tadepalligudem mandal and enquired about the crop diversity, irrigation facilities and land prices apart from documenting various technical advantages for the proposed airport.

Tadepalligudem MLA (Jana Sena Party) and government Whip Bolisetti Srinivas who accompanied the AAI authorities, shared his observations on the advantages for the proposed airport.

“The Tadepalligudem area will meet all the criterions required for the greenfield airport which is proposed for better air connectivity to the Godavari region with other regions in Southern India,” Mr. Srinivas stated in a release.

The AAI team will prepare a pre-feasibility report to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Andhra Pradesh State government.
