Principal among 2 arrested after inter-college clerk murdered over management rivalry in UP

ETAH: The principal of an inter-college and another man were arrested for allegedly murdering a college clerk amid a dispute over the institution's management on Monday, police said.The accused were arrested while allegedly trying to dispose of the victim's body in neighbouring Kasganj district, according to news agency PTI.The deceased, Rahul Kumar Pandey, worked as a clerk at Madhavanand Inter College in Kasela village under the Jaitra police station area.According to police, a car carrying the accused was intercepted in the Patiali police station area of Kasganj after authorities received information about the murder."During the search of the vehicle, Rahul Kumar Pandey's body was recovered from the boot of the car. The college principal, Krishna Kumar Pandey, and another person travelling in the vehicle were arrested on the spot," the SHO said.Preliminary investigation indicates that a long-running dispute over administrative control and management of the college may have led to the murder, police said.Family members of the victim alleged that Rahul Kumar Pandey was called to the college on Sunday and was killed as part of a pre-planned conspiracy.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.Thakur said an FIR has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim's family.Police are also investigating the unidentified mobile number through which information about the incident was received. Further investigation is underway, officials said.
