Members of the Andhra Pradesh Private Unaided School Managements Association (APPUSMA) have urged the School Education Department not to remove student details from the UDISE Child Info system without prior consent from the respective schools.
In a representation submitted to Commissioner of School Education Thameem Ansariya, the association leaders expressed concern that Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) and some other officials were allegedly deleting the details of students studying in private schools from the online system without informing the school managements.
They said such actions were contrary to the directions issued by the Andhra Pradesh High Court (in W.P. No. 9606 of 2021) and a memo issued by the Commissioner of School Education on November 3, 2021. According to the court order, Transfer Certificates in cases involving pending fee dues should be issued only after collection of 50% of the pending amount and obtaining an undertaking from parents to clear the remaining dues in instalments within six months.
Stating that private unaided schools were already facing financial and administrative difficulties, the association leaders said removal of student data without the knowledge of the managements was creating confusion and hardship. They said such actions could inadvertently violate existing court orders and lead to legal complications.
The association requested the Commissioner to intervene and issue clear instructions to all officials not to remove any student details from the UDISE Child Info system without prior intimation to, and consent from, the private school managements concerned.
