An investigation is under way into the death of two children whose decomposed bodies were found inside their locked house at Mylavaram on Friday night. The deceased, identified as V. Lakshmi Hiranya (9) and her brother V. Leela Sai (7), were the children of the couple Raja Shekar and Chandrika of Mylavaram, police said.
Raja Shekar was a catering-unit employee in Mylavaram and Chandrika works in Bahrain. The siblings were students of a residential school at G. Konduru. A note, purportedly written by Raja Sekhar and found inside the house, said he was going to end his life. A search for him is under way, according to the police.
Following post-mortem examination, the bodies were handed over to Chandrika, who has reached Mylavaram, on Saturday.
Krishna district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson K. Suvartha appealed to parents to hand over their children to the CWC if they are unable to take care of them.
