Procedure for correcting errors in last name simplified in Kerala

The Local Self-Government department has further simplified the procedure for correcting errors in last name in birth certificates.

As per the latest directives issued on April 10, the applicants for correcting their names need to submit only the relevant documents and affidavits of two persons. The changes will be applicable to those who want to expand their initials, to change name after marriage and to correct spelling mistakes.
