A routine business deal turned violent in Karnataka’s Chitradurga on Wednesday when a mobile shop owner was stabbed after a heated argument over a screen guard.

The incident took place at Chaudhary Mobile Shop near the Sante Honda area. The owner, Vikram Chaudhary, was allegedly attacked with a knife by a youth following the dispute.

Chaudhary suffered a serious injury to his ear and was rushed to Chitradurga District Government Hospital for emergency treatment. The attacker fled soon after the assault. Police responded quickly as tensions in the area began to rise.

After the incident, a large group of pro-Hindu activists gathered outside the district hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Chitradurga Superintendent of Police Ranjith Kumar Bandaru visited the spot to review the situation. He said the clash began over a minor disagreement about mobile accessories. He added that police are examining CCTV footage to identify and arrest the accused.

A case has been registered at Chitradurga City Police Station. Police have stepped up efforts to trace the suspect, who is said to have a history of aggressive behaviour.
