A bench of CJI BR Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath was hearing the presidential reference case when Chief Justice BR Gavai referred to the tense situation in Nepal.

"We are proud of our constitution, see what is happening in neighbouring countries," CJI Gavai said, referring to the anti-corruption agitation in which 21 people have been killed so far. "An Bangladesh," added Justice Vikram Nath referring to the revolt in the neighbouring country which forced the then PM Sheikh Hasina to flee.
