A late-night brawl between two groups at a pub in Knowledge City led to a case being registered against the establishment for operating beyond the permitted hours, police said on Monday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Raasta Pub at around 2.50 a.m., when an altercation broke out between two groups seated at adjacent tables. The scuffle was brought under control within a few seconds by the pub’s bouncers.
Police said no complaint was received from either group regarding the altercation. They also denied reports circulating on social media that a firearm was involved in the incident, stating that no gun was used during the brawl.
However, during the inquiry, officers found that the pub was functioning beyond the permissible closing time. A case was registered against the management for operating the establishment after the permitted hours.
Police said further action will be taken in accordance with the law.
