The First Judicial Magistrate Court in Puducherry has directed Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson to appear in the court on Saturday (July 5, 2026) for obtaining an additional charge-sheet filed by the Lawspet police in a case of trespass and assault.
The case was registered at the Lawspet police station on a complaint filed in 2022 by Careline Calude, wife of the Minister’s brother, who resides in Puducherry. The victim had challenged the First Information Report for invoking only soft provisions of the law against Mr. Wilson.

Video footage
While challenging the FIR, she had produced video footage as evidence. A Mahila Court had ordered the police to conduct further investigation and file a fresh FIR. Meanwhile, the case was transferred to the First Judicial Magistrate Court as the accused was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
As the police have filed a fresh charge-sheet by invoking more provisions, the court has ordered his appearance for Saturday (July 4, 2026) to receive a copy of the fresh charge-sheet. According to sources in the Puducherry Police, the fresh charge-sheet was filed before the Assembly election results were declared.
Among the charges faced by Mr. Wilson are house trespass; causing damage due to mischief; voluntarily causing hurt; causing hurt using weapon; assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; criminal intimidation; and use of obscene words.
Father booked too
The sources said Mr. Wilson’s father Nestor Wilson was also present when the incident happened at his brother’s house at Ezhil Nagar in Puducherry town. A case has been registered against Mr. Nestor Wilson too.
The assault was the sequel to a property dispute in the family, they added.
