Pugmarks trigger panic among villagers of Sonna in Kalaburagi

Residents of Sonna village in Jewargi taluk are gripped by fear after a leopard reportedly entered the village on Sunday and attacked a dog belonging to a local farmer.

According to sources, the leopard attacked and killed the dog that belonged to farmer Sulieman Khasimsab Shaikh in his agricultural land.

When villagers searched for the missing dog, they noticed pugmarks and blood stains in the vicinity, indicating that the wild animal was involved in the attack.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Deputy Range Forest Officer Sachin Biradar and a Forest Guard visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

The two confirmed the presence of a leopard in the area.

Following the incident, villagers have expressed concern about their safety and urged Forest Department officials to take immediate steps to capture the animal at the earliest.
