Punjab and Haryana high court seeks status report on AAP minister Laljit Bhullar's (in pic) father's bail plea
AMRITSAR: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday sought a status report regarding the anticipatory bail plea of Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, father of former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Laljit Singh Bhullar.The case involves the suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, who was the Amritsar District Manager of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation (PSWC).Notably, Randhawa allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison at his residence on March 21.Before taking the extreme step, he reportedly recorded a video holding Bhullar responsible. Following a complaint filed by Randhawa’s wife, Upinder Kaur, the police registered an FIR against the MLA, his father Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, and his personal assistant Dilbagh Singh.Initially, the family refused to allow a post-mortem examination until the former minister was arrested, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter. However, they eventually performed his last rites on March 24.The high court has now scheduled the next hearing and ordered the submission of the status report by August 6.
