Punjab police on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) said that initial investigation, following the incident of explosion on a railway track near Shambhu-Rajpura in Patiala district was an “attempted detonation”, even as the Opposition parties tore into Aam Aadmi Party government, blaming it for deteriorating law and order in the State.

Patiala’s Senior Superintendent of Police Varun Sharma said police swung into action on Monday (April 27, 2026) night following reports of a low-intensity explosion on a railway track near Shambhu-Rajpura.
