A quarrel between a husband and wife in a Punjab village escalated into violence on Sunday afternoon after the woman’s family allegedly attacked her in-laws, leaving four people injured.
According to police officials in Moga, following a domestic dispute, the wife called her maternal family. Soon after, around 20–25 people from her parental side arrived at the in-laws’ house and allegedly launched an attack on the family. It is alleged that some of the attackers also opened fire, injuring four members of the household, including the husband, father-in-law, sister-in-law and sister-in-law’s wife.
All the injured were admitted to Moga Civil Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. The husband, whose condition is stated to be critical, was referred to Faridkot Medical College.

The attackers fled the spot after locals gathered and raised an alarm.
Sona Singh’s sister Nirmal Kaur, who is four months pregnant, alleged that the attackers showed no regard for anyone and assaulted family members on arrival. She claimed she was kicked in the stomach and that there was also an attempt to shoot her.
Police officials said strict action will be taken against those found guilty and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
