The case against the officer has been registered at the Shahuwadi police station
Kolhapur: A state public works department engineer from Shahuwadi was caught accepting bribe of Rs 38,000 from a contractor to clear pending bills.The contractor had carried out works on a bridge and a road. He was asked to pay a bribe of Rs 38,000 to get his bills sanctioned.
The contractor approached the anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Kolhapur.
After verifying the claims of the complainant, a trap was laid.The 50-year-old branch engineer, Vijaykumar Vilas Vhamore, is from Karad but posted as branch engineer at Shahuwadi’s PWD branch.A team of ACB officials carried out the trap. The case against the officer has been registered at the Shahuwadi police station. The ACB has requested people to approach them if any govt official asks for bribe.
