A large python was rescued from inside the Communist Party of India (Marxist) party office at Aryanad in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday (July 3, 2026).

The snake was spotted in the narrow space between the building’s wall and the metal sheet roofing. The office is housed in a sheet-roofed structure, where reptiles are occasionally seen during the monsoon season, forest officials said.

The party workers immediately alerted the Forest department, following which officials from the Paruthippally forest range were deployed to the office. Beat Forest Officer Roshni G.S., who is also a member of the Rapid Response Team, managed to safely capture the python.

The rescued snake was later shifted to the Forest department’s custody for further care and release as per wildlife protocols.
