However, the confirmation came via Qualcomm’s official social media channels, continuing Qualcomm’s tradition of introducing its next-generation flagship platforms at this event. Although Qualcomm hasn’t officially confirmed the products, several industry reports have consistently expected Qualcomm to introduce these products:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
- Latest Snapdragon X-series chips for AI PCs
- Upgraded Snapdragon G-series gaming platforms
- AI and on-device generative AI technologies for phones, PCs, XR, automotive, and IoT devices

Some reliable sources have suggested that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset might feature these:
- Built on TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process
- Second-generation custom Oryon CPU cores
- Faster Adreno GPU
- Improved Hexagon NPU for on-device AI
- Better power efficiency than the current Snapdragon 8 Elite
- Support for faster LPDDR5X/LPDDR6 memory
Multiple reports also indicate that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, indicating Qualcomm might split its flagship lineup similarly to desktop processors. And several rumors include these things:
- Higher CPU clock speeds
- Better sustained performance
- Premium flagship positioning
- Likely reserved for Ultra or Pro phones
If the company follows the previous debut cycles, these are the first devices that are going to be powered by the latest chips, which might include:
- Xiaomi 18 series
- Redmi K100 Pro
- OnePlus 16
- iQOO 15
- Realme GT 9 Pro
- Honor Magic 9 series
- ASUS ROG Phone 11
- Samsung Galaxy S27 series
Qualcomm has moved its flagship debut from October to late September in recent years by offering Android OEMs more time to launch their flagship phones before the holiday shopping season. Compete more closely with Apple’s September iPhone debut. Begin commercial availability before the end of the year. The earlier schedule has become Qualcomm’s preferred debut window. Beyond CPU and GPU improvements, Qualcomm is expected to emphasize these things:
- On-device generative AI
- Larger AI models running locally
- Faster multimodal AI
- AI Photography
- AI gaming enhancements
- AI-powered Windows laptops using Snapdragon X chips
It actually aligns with Qualcomm’s broader strategy of positioning Snapdragon as an AI platform across mobile, PC, XR, automotive, and edge devices.
