SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu's upcoming film SSMB29 has been the talk of the town since its announcement and fans have been buzzing about the many updates on social media. After bringing actors Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran onboard, a recent update suggests another big name joining the star-studded cast.As per a report by MoneyControl, actor R Madhavan is expected to join the team. He is reportedly set to play a significant role in this grand project, which is said to have a budget of around Rs 1,000 crore. While the filmmakers have yet to officially confirm his involvement, this would mark his first collaboration with Rajamouli.About the filmThe action-adventure drama, is reportedly drawing comparisons to iconic adventure tales like Indiana Jones.

This genre has been hinted at by Rajamouli’s father, veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad in past interviews. Adding to the buzz, Rajamouli himself has done location scouting in Kenya, suggesting that some parts of the movie will be shot there. Originally planned to start filming in mid-2024, pre-production delays pushed the schedule back by a few months.The film's music will be composed by M.M. Keeravani, who has been a long-time collaborator with Rajamouli and has also won an Oscar.

Nana Patekar turned down a roleA report by Gulte suggested that veteran actor Nana Patekar was approached to play a key role in the film, specifically the role of Mahesh Babu's father. It was said that Rajamouli personally visited Nana at his farmhouse in Pune to narrate the script and convince him to join the project. Despite a lucrative offer reportedly close to Rs 20 crore for just about 15 days of shooting, Nana declined the role, feeling that the character did not appeal to him enough to commit.
