As former AAP MP, Raghav Chadha joined the BJP on Friday, his old video is resurfacing on social media. In the clip, Chadha is seen sharply criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party, describing it as a “party of illiterate goons".

The video quickly gained traction online, with users questioning the apparent contradiction between his past statements and his current alignment. The development has added to the scrutiny surrounding his exit from AAP and sudden entry into the BJP.

Chadha’s move comes amid a major split within AAP, with six Rajya Sabha MPs joining him in switching sides, dealing a blow to the AAP leadership.

The resurfacing of his earlier remarks has intensified the political debate, with rivals raising questions over his ideological consistency, even as the BJP has welcomed the new entrants.

Along with Raghav Chadha, the group includes prominent MPs such as Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Vikram Sahney and Swati Maliwal.

Addressing the press conference, Chadha said that nearly two-thirds of AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs have quit the party and will join the BJP as a faction.

Chadha cited disillusionment with the AAP, stating the party had “deviated from its principles" and described himself as a “right man in the wrong party". The fallout escalated after AAP leadership stripped Chadha of his deputy leadership role on April 2, and requested the Rajya Sabha Secretariat not to allot him speaking time.
