Raigarh Gets Rs 35.77 Crore DMF Fund for Education, Skills, Agriculture and Rural Roads

The Raigarh administration has been using DMF funds for development works that directly support social and economic progress in mining-affected regions.

Raigarh (India CSR): Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh has received a major development boost with administrative approval of Rs 35.76 crore for 13 important projects under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMF). The sanctioned works will strengthen education, skill development, agriculture infrastructure and rural road connectivity in mining-affected areas of the district.

The projects have been approved under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and through the special efforts of Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary. The initiative is aimed at improving the quality of life of people living in directly and indirectly mining-affected areas.

The approved projects will benefit Dharamjaigarh, Lailunga, Gharghoda and Tamnar development blocks. Through these works, students, youth, farmers and rural families are expected to get improved access to basic facilities, livelihood opportunities and better connectivity.

The district administration is using DMF funds for development works that directly support social and economic progress in mining-affected regions. The sanctioned projects are expected to create stronger infrastructure and provide a new foundation for inclusive development in rural Raigarh.

Library Buildings Approved

To provide better study facilities to students and youth preparing for competitive examinations, administrative approval of Rs 6.39 crore has been granted for the construction of library buildings and related development works in Tamnar, Gharghoda, Lailunga and Dharamjaigarh blocks.

These libraries will be developed with modern study resources. The facilities are expected to create a better learning environment for students in rural areas and support their academic and career aspirations.

ITI Buildings Upgradation

To provide modern technical education and employment-oriented training to local youth, approval has been granted for the renovation of government Industrial Training Institute buildings in Gharghoda and Dharamjaigarh. An amount of Rs 1.56 crore has been sanctioned for the renovation of the Government ITI building in Gharghoda. Another Rs 82.86 lakh has been approved for the renovation of the Government ITI building in Dharamjaigarh.

Once completed, these works will strengthen training infrastructure and provide better skill development opportunities to youth in the region.

Agriculture Infrastructure Support

The project also focuses on strengthening agriculture and rural economic activities in Tamnar block. To promote Farmer Producer Organisations and local business activities, Rs 1.21 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a commercial complex, while Rs 1.05 crore has been approved for the construction of a market shed yard.

These facilities will help farmers with better storage, marketing and trading of agricultural produce. The projects are expected to support rural entrepreneurship and provide new strength to the local economy.

Rural Road Network

A major share of the sanctioned amount will be used for strengthening rural roads. Around Rs 24.73 crore has been approved for eight important road construction works across Dharamjaigarh, Lailunga, Gharghoda and Tamnar blocks. The approved road works include routes from Piprahi to Deepapara, Subra to Katkalia, Kondkel to Gerupani, Dhap to Bhawanipur, Kilkila to Odisha Border, Barmuda to Ukaripali, Teram to Chhirbhauna, and Bamhanbahri to Pulaiant.

These roads will improve rural connectivity, make transportation of agricultural produce easier, and improve access to education, healthcare and other essential services.

Work Agencies Appointed

Chhattisgarh Housing Board and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana have been appointed as implementing agencies for the approved projects. The district administration has directed the agencies to complete all construction works within 365 days while following prescribed quality standards. Regular monitoring and quality testing of construction works will also be ensured to maintain transparency and effective implementation.
