Railway Thiruvananthapuram division bags five efficiency shields

Thiruvananthapuram Division, Southern Railway, has won five efficiency shields during the 71st Railway Week Celebrations of Southern Railway held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Arangam, ICF, Chennai. For its outstanding performance during the year 2025–26, the division emerged as the joint winner of the ‘General Manager’s Inter-Divisional Overall Efficiency Shield’, the highest recognition for all-round performance among the various divisions of the Southern Railway, sharing the honour with Palakkad division.

The Thiruvananthapuram division also secured Safety Efficiency Shield, Best Maintained Health Unit, Accounts Efficiency Shield (Joint Winner with Palakkad division), and Personnel Efficiency Shield (Joint Winner with Tiruchchirappalli division). Divyakant Chandrakar, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram division, received the shields, during the Railway Week Celebrations held on June 11.

The awards recognise excellence in operational efficiency, safety, financial management, personnel administration, healthcare services and overall service delivery. Further enhancing the division’s achievements, several officers and staff members were honoured with the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2026 for their meritorious service and exemplary contributions in their respective fields.
