A premium train journey turned into a shocking moment for passengers on the Vande Bharat Express from Patna to Tatanagar, and it has led to strict action by the Ministry of Railways. The trouble began when a passenger shared a video claiming that insects were found in a cup of Amul dahi served on the train. The video quickly spread, raising serious concerns about food safety on one of India’s premium trains.

More passengers in the train had similar complaints, saying they also noticed insects in their meals. Taking the matter seriously, the Railways acted fast, and the company responsible for providing food on the train has lost its contract. Along with this, a heavy fine of Rs 50 Lakh has been imposed on the caterer. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has also been fined Rs 10 Lakh.

In the video, shared on X, the passenger is seen showing a cup of Amul dahi where insects were clearly moving inside. He then shows another cup with the same problem. He says the second cup belonged to another passenger, who had already eaten half of it without noticing anything wrong at first. The passenger also claims that he tried to report the issue to the train staff. He asked for the manager to take action, but says no one came forward to address the complaint.
