To handle the surge of festive travel, the Railways will operate 18 special Holi trains from the Danapur division. Key services include routes such as Puri–Patna, Gondia–Patna, and New Delhi–Patna, running on a mix of daily and weekly schedules. These additional trains are intended to make it easier for people to visit family and celebrate the festival across different cities.
Patna: Railways will run 18 more Holi special trains on both UP and Down journey originating from different places falling under the Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) to cope with the festival rush.According to Danapur senior divisional commercial manager (senior DCM) Abhinav Siddarth, the Puri-Patna will be into operations from February 28 to March 29, leaving Puri every Saturday and Sunday from Patna. “Similarly, the Gondia-Patna will run on March 2 from Gondia and March 3 from Patna,” he said.Besides the railways will run special trains between New Delhi and Patna from March 5 to 16 from both New Delhi and Patna ends.
“The Patna-Charlapalli will be into service from March 9 to April 1,” Siddarth said.A weekly Sheikhpura-Ananad Vihar special will be into operations from March 8 to 16. The Pune-Danapur biweekly special will run from February 23 to March 8. Another special train running between Pune and Danapur has been put into operations daily till March 10.In addition, the Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai-Danapur has already been put into operations daily till March 9. A weekly Ahmedabad-Patna will be into service till March 27.
