New Delhi: Ubisoft has recently introduced its Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile across the globe. The free-to-play tactical shooter is now live on both Android and iOS devices, which brings the 5v5 Attack vs Defense formula of Rainbow Six Siege to users’ devices. It is developed by Ubisoft Montreal the game isn’t a stripped-down port.
It is built from the ground up for mobile, with touch-optimised controls and a redesigned interface. Intact-destructible environments, observation drones, barricades, spy cameras, and the kind of tense, strategy-heavy rounds that Siege players know.
At debut, the players get access to more than 20 Operators, including fan favorites like Ash, Mute, and Dokkaebi.
There are now five maps carried over from Siege Bank, Border, Clubhouse, Oregon, and Villa, plus two mobile-exclusive maps, Restaurant and Summit. Game modes include Bomb, Bomb Rush, and Team Deathmatch alongside Ranked matches, Quick Play, and Private matches.
Rainbow Six Mobile isn’t wasting time post-launch; in its first season, Operation Sand Wraith is already live, and it is arriving a week ahead of schedule. It is also notable with the latest Operator, whose DeathMARK Tracker ability looks at a single enemy, forcing a one-on-one duel until someone goes down.
It is a bold mechanic that adds a layer of personal stakes to each round. The season also brings a desert-themed visual refresh, with Ubisoft claiming the latest content and drops every season in the future.
Smartphone launch at an interesting time for the franchise. The Rainbow Six Siege has recently crossed the 80 million registered players, and it is marking the 10th anniversary with Siege X, the major upgrade that unveils the permanent 6v6 mode called Dual Front, alongside modernized maps and audiovisual updates.
