Raj Kundra has spoken out on the growing concern around explicit content online, calling for stricter regulations and even a potential ban on pornographic websites in India. His statement comes days after Harbhajan Singh raised similar concerns in Parliament about the impact of such content on young minds.
‘This is not about me, it’s about society’
Addressing the ongoing narratives around him, Kundra said he wanted to shift focus to what he believes is a pressing national issue.“I would like to address ongoing narratives surrounding me, and more importantly, speak on an issue that requires urgent national attention. For the past four years, I have dealt with trolls, hate, and a relentless media trial. An image has been painted of me that is far from reality,” he told ANI.He added, “This statement today is not about me, it is about the greater good of our society.”
‘Internet is flooded with degrading, unregulated content’
Highlighting the easy accessibility of explicit content, Kundra called it a serious social concern.“The internet today is flooded with free, unregulated content that is degrading, addictive, and easily accessible, especially to young and impressionable minds. This is not just a moral concern; it is a societal one,” he said.
Calling for stronger action, he added, “India should consider stricter regulations, including a potential ban on pornographic websites, similar to countries like the UAE.”
‘Restrict social media for children under 16’
Kundra also proposed limiting access to social media for minors.“There should be serious consideration toward restricting access to social media platforms for children under the age of 16, ensuring a safer and more responsible digital environment,” he said.

‘I support Harbhajan Singh’
Backing the former cricketer’s stance, Kundra said, “I also support the views expressed by my brother Harbhajan Singh, who has raised important points on this subject in Parliament.”Earlier, speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Harbhajan had warned about the risks to children’s mental health.“Our children’s future is at risk. Many kids are getting addicted to platforms like Instagram and are being exposed to sexualised or semi-pornographic content at a very young age,” he said. The issue has also sparked discussions at the state level, with leaders considering restrictions on social media access for children below a certain age. For the unversed, Raj Kundra had faced legal trouble in 2021 over alleged links to the creation and distribution of adult content—charges he has consistently denied. His latest remarks now shift the conversation from personal controversy to a broader debate on digital safety, regulation, and the protection of young users online.
