KOTA: At least four labourers, including a couple, were killed and five others injured after a van carrying the workers rammed into an unidentified truck from behind on NH-27 near Sutada village under Dabi police station in Bundi district early Wednesday morning.The collision was reportedly so severe that four of the occupants in the van were badly mangled, requiring collection and transportation to a hospital in Kota. Following reports of the accident at around 4.30 am, police reached the scene and rushed the injured to a community health centre in Dabi, where doctors referred them to New Medical College Hospital (NMCH) in Kota.SHO Hemraj Sharma of Dabi police station said the ECO van carrying the labourers collided with an unidentified truck from behind on NH-27 near Sutada village at around 4 am.
Four occupants of the van were killed on the spot, while five others sustained injuries.The deceased have been identified as Anil (35), Santosh, his wife, and Devraj. The injured include Hemraj, Menikashi (wife of Anil), Sourabh, and two others whose identities are yet to be confirmed. The injured are undergoing treatment at NMCH in Kota, while the bodies were shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem after the arrival of their family members.
The truck involved in the accident has not yet been traced, but the damaged van has been sent to the police station. The labourers in the van were from Baran district in Rajasthan and Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh and were travelling to Kankroli and Nathdwara for work.
